Hazel Gymea
Sophie and Jarred were the first couple to get married at Hazelhurst Gallery, which made the day even more special. They held their ceremony in the garden and celebrated inside the gallery’s restaurant. They wanted to surprise their guests with a live wedding painter, so I was working undercover for the first part of the day. Their colour palette was soft pinks and whites, and Sophie’s gown featured a striking bow behind her neck instead of a traditional veil.
They’ve known each other since high school, and their connection really showed. The moment we chose to paint was just before their first kiss—full of anticipation, and a perfect fit for the creative and meaningful setting.
