Gledswood Homestead and Winery
Firomena and Phillip’s wedding was the first Samoan wedding I had the chance to paint. They got married at Gledswood Homestead, under a big old tree with white floral pillars framing the aisle. Their two cats, Lucky and Charm, were part of the wedding and even walked down the aisle with them—naturally, they were included in the painting.
It was an overcast day with clouds hanging overhead, but the rain held off. Just as they said their vows, the sun peeked out briefly, lighting up the whole scene.
They chose to paint the moment walking back down the aisle together, cats and all.
